First CNY

Tanya was really great during our CNY visiting, and was laughing and cheerful to the new faces who wanted to carry or play with her. But our nightmare came at night when she refused to sleep from 2+am to 6am! After her night feed she was wide awake and ready to play and explore the night! I had hoped it was over stumulation from the visits and that it would not repeat, but it happened a few nights in a row. Was she teething? My sis boys first teeth all pop at 4 months! X-fingers and hope for stabalisation soon.

Limited time

Given the limited time I get to blog, and all the many things I want to capture to remember, I decided to post some empty blog entries with just photos =)

I'm also starting to feel the clock ticking down to the time I must return to work. Fills me with mixed feelings. Mostly, I cannot bear to leave her behind and miss out on the many milestones while I'm off at work. Her first word maybe? Her first step? And the feeling that she will not need her mummy any more :( and may have patterns of behaviour I'm not familiar with. Hai but what to do? Time really flies. Here's some pics of her in her first month versus now. How much she's grown ya? =) wonder how much I will miss when I return to work...

Vaccination shot

Tanya visited her PD for her 3rd month vaccine shot on Friday. She was crying piteously even before the shot landed (sleepy maybe?) and made the checkup tough on us and the doctor. But when the shot was given, she bawled her little heart out. Her crying fit infected some young patients outside the door and set an echo of crying at the clinic. =P

Last 2 days that followed were tough as Tanya broke into a fever and refused her strawberry flavoured fever medicine. She kept spitting it out, despite our best efforts at syringing it to her. She was also fussy and kept crying (although my MIL says she's always fussy anyway... -_-"), almost only allowing me and Ming to carry her. Hopefully she'll be better today, since the doc says the effects should at max last 2 days.

I feel we walk a thin line between my side family and his. My sis, with 2 healthy rowdy boys make me seem like an over-protective mum who keeps her daughter all wrapped up and wouldn't let her do anything fun; whereas in his family, Tanya is the first grandchild, so I seem always to be putting her in some danger or other, like walking past a clinic full of germs and bacteria or letting her go out without her mittens or cap or blanket to cover her. It tends to be stressful to me as both sides wonder what kind of mum am I. But perhaps its for the best as we walk the middle ground and prevent any extremes on either side?
